21-year-old charged after befriending parents to sexually assault at least 4 boys, police say

An Oakland County man was charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted little boys and took inappropriate pictures of them.

On Tuesday August 27th Waterford Police Detectives arrested Logan Joseph Sutherland at his home in Waterford. He was arraigned and bond was set at $100,000.00 cash or surety only

Detectives were there to investigate a criminal sexual conduct complaint involving a ten year old male victim. Sutherland had spent time alone with the boy on as many as 30-40 occasions from 2021 to 2023.

At the time of arrest, Detectives seized Sutherland’s cell phone and found still images as well as videos of naked young boys, police said.

Police say since the arrest, three more victims have come forward.

Police say victims in this case were assaulted at several locations in Waterford Township including Logan Sutherland’s home, ZapZone, Sportway, and SkyZone in Commerce Township.

“All four victims in this case knew Sutherland. He has befriended parents with young boys, gained their confidence, and used their trust to spend time alone and sexually assault the children. However, photos in Sutherland’s cell phone depicted several young boys, other than these four victims, who are unidentified,” police said in a statement.
