A father is facing child endangerment charges after leaving his three young children unattended at Cedar Point amusement park while he rode roller coasters.
According to police, the 36-year-old father left his 8-year-old daughter to watch over his 2-year-old and 4-year-old daughters while he went on multiple rides. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Friday.
A woman found the 2-year-old playing in the dirt near the Magnum roller coaster and later discovered the 4-year-old unattended in a wagon near the Corkscrew ride. She waited for nearly 20 minutes before the father returned.
The father told police he had only been gone for a few minutes, but officers noted that one of the rides had been shut down for at least 20 minutes while he was in line.
The father later admitted to riding three rides, one of which he rode twice.
