A 7-year-old was shot in the chest in Inkster.
The shooting happened early Monday morning around 12:30 AM, at the Dearborn View Apartments near Beech Daly and Cherry Hill.
Preliminary information indicates shooting may have been the result of reckless discharge of a firearm inside the apartment.
The child was rushed to the hospital by officers and was listed in critical but stable condition. The department has identified a person of interest in the shooting that was possibly inside the apartment when it occurred.
