Detroit’s 36th district court to waive late fees, penalties, warrant costs until August

The 36th District Court has announced a debt amnesty program.

During this period from June to August 2, 2024, all late fees, penalties, and warrant costs will be entirely waived upon full payment of the original amount.

This initiative applies to all adjudicated cases with assessed fines and costs, except for driver’s license reinstatement fees.

“We are thrilled to offer individuals the opportunity to settle their outstanding debt, alleviating the burden of accumulated late fees and warrant costs,” said 36th District Court Chief Judge William C. McConico. “The 36th District Court staff is fully committed to assisting our users in obtaining relief and ensuring the success of this amnesty program.”
