Detroit’s Campus Martius named the nation’s number-one best public space

Detroit’s Campus Martius Park has been named the nation’s number one best public space by USA Today 10Best.

“Campus Martius Park serves as Detroit’s gathering place, where locals and visitors alike can come to take in the skyline views, people-watch around the Woodward Fountain, grab a meal from a food truck, or go ice skating in winter,” USA Today 10Best wrote.

More than 4.2 million people visit Campus Martius in Detroit a year and host all types of events, such as the NFL Draft that is happening next week.

Nominees for 10Best are submitted by a panel of experts. 10Best editors narrow the field to select the final set of nominees for the Readers’ Choice Awards. Readers are then permitted to vote once per category per day.
