Detroit police seize $85,000 worth of counterfeit Detroit Lions clothing

Detroit police have been cracking down on individuals who are selling counterfeit and unlicensed clothing in the downtown area and donating it to people in need.

Throughout the season, they have seized at least $85,000 worth of items.

Video above shows some of the merchandise that was taken today.

People are cheaply making these items and selling them for an extremely higher price, police tell MDN.

The consequences of selling counterfeit or unlicensed items will lead to a misdemeanor. Police say they will donate the clothing to the homeless and people in need after getting approval from the NFL.
