UPDATE: The suspect has peacefully surrendered, and the hostage is expected to be OK.
A barricaded gunman situation is unfolding on Detroit’s west side.
The incident is happening at a home in the block of Glastonbury Rd, near Southfield and 8 Mile.
A man is holding his girlfriend hostage. He said he wasn’t “going back to jail.”
It all started after the female hostages’ son went to check up on her after she wasn’t answering.
When he got to the home, the suspect told him to leave and wouldn’t let him see his mom.
At some point, an altercation occurred, and the suspect allegedly fired shots.
DPD SRT is on the scene and negotiating.
