Eloise Asylum opens for second season

A closed and abandoned Michigan asylum has turned into a high-tech horror-themed haunted attraction.

Eloise Asylum, located on 30712 Michigan Ave in Westland, opened late last week.

Millions of dollars have been invested to turn Eloise into two haunted walk-throughs. One hundred actors were also hired for this haunted house.

They are also using high-tech gadgets like two of the world’s 20 Cold Spark Pyrotechnic Simulators and Advanced Projection Mapping Technologies. This new technology produces a cold spark that is safe, odorless, and emits a low smoke output.

The building is 30,000 sq ft. It started as a poor house and farm in 1839 but eventually developed into an asylum, sanatorium, and hospital.

The walkthrough lasts around 40 minutes and a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the homeless shelter.
