9 shot in two separate shootings in Detroit

9 people were shot in two separate shooting incidents in Detroit.

The shooting happened Friday night going into Saturday.

The first shooting happened in the block of Trinity, near Grand River & McNichols, at around 1:43 a.m.

There was a shootout between multiple people during a block party, which resulted in four people being hit. Three females and one male were rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detroit Police arrived on the scene and also exchanged gunfire with one of the shooters. This is the third Detroit police officer-involved shooting in less than a week.

The second shooting, which was unrelated, happened around 2:00 a.m. in the area of Warren and Grand Blvd.

A group of five people were leaving a repass when an unknown suspect pulled up and began firing shots toward the victims.

The 5 male victims were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing for both shootings. Stay with @metrodetroitnews
