6 Puppies Rescued After Being Found On Busy Detroit Road

Six puppies are safe after being found in the middle of the road in Detroit over the weekend.

Railroad police discovered the young hound mixes alone on Oakland Road and Louisiana, close to the I-75 freeway. They were thin but not emaciated and are believed to be about three months old, officials said.

Detroit Animal Care and Control responded to the scene and took the puppies in for care. Officials say the pups are now healthy and receiving proper attention.

The puppies are being transferred to two rescue groups: Save Monroe Strays in Monroe County and Saving Destiny in Macomb County, where they’ll continue to recover.

It remains unclear how the puppies ended up alone.
