A 5-year-old Royal Oak boy is dead after an explosion at a medical center in Troy.
The incident happened at The Oxford Center on Kirt near I-75 and Livernois, around 8:00 a.m.
According to Troy fire & Police, the child was inside a hyperbaric chamber when the chamber exploded and caught fire.
The mother was near the child and was also injured, police said.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Medical staff were present but were not injured. An investigation is ongoing into how the chamber, which was full of oxygen, exploded.
