A crash involving a Detroit EMS Rig and 2 civilian cars happened Friday on McNichols and Greenfield.
Five people were taken to the hospital:
• Two EMS employees – injuries not critical
• One adult male patient already in the EMS unit – rushed to the hospital
• Two people from the civilian car – one adult and one small child, injuries not believed to be life-threatening
Preliminary details indicate the EMS rig was using lights and sirens and turning onto 6 Mile when traffic had stopped. A civilian vehicle reportedly passed the stopped traffic and struck the EMS unit.
The crash remains under investigation.
