Detroit police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex on the city’s east side.
The incident occurred Monday night at Sheridan Place, near Jefferson Avenue and East Grand Boulevard.
Four people were shot, and one person has been taken into custody. All four victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police say one of those shot was the suspect.
According to investigators, the suspect became upset about a barbecue taking place and complained about the noise. He allegedly warned that if the group didn’t lower the volume, he would “take care of them.”
Police say one of the victims tackled the suspect while he was firing shots. A Good Samaritan—an elderly woman—then picked up the weapon and shot the suspect.
