An incident at Detroit’s Midtown Crockett High School on Wednesday has raised serious concerns about edible mari-juana products in schools.
Seven students consumed edibles, with four requiring hospitalization, according to Detroit Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti.
In an official statement, Detroit schools say a student brought the products from home. The student who brought the products faces expulsion from the school and will not return, the statement said.
In response, Superintendent Vitti is emphasizing the need for awareness and vigilance regarding the presence of products in educational environments.
He urged parents and guardians to educate their children about the potential dangers of consuming such items and to monitor their accessibility.
