A 30-year-old Detroit woman was critically injured after she was hit by a car while on I-75 in Detroit on Monday.
According to MSP, the woman was involved in a crash, exited her vehicle after the crash, and walked into the lanes of travel on the freeway before being struck by another passing vehicle.
She was transported to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian stayed on scene and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries
“We continue to remind drivers to not get out of their cars after a crash,” stated F/Lt Mike Shaw. “Stay in your car, and if you can, move your car out of the travel lanes. Keep your seatbelt fastened and call 911 for assistance. This is the safest place to be after a crash.”
