3 Shot, 2 Dead — Including Innocent 4-year-old at Detroit Park

Detroit police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead — including a 4-year-old.

The incident occurred Friday evening at a park next to Denby High School, in the area of Kelly and Morang on the city’s east side.

Three people in total were shot; two have died. One of the victims who died was an innocent 4-year-old child caught in the crossfire. The second fatal victim was an 18-year-old male. The third, non-fatal victim is a 17-year-old.

Police say it started as an argument that led to shooting.

Two people were taken into custody.

“We’re going to ensure we work this case relentlessly to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Chief Todd Bettison said.
