3 charged in drive-by shooting of 11-year-old Detroit girl who was sleeping on couch

Three people have been charged in connection to the alleged fatal shooting of an 11-year-old girl in Detroit.

Tahkari Turner, 18, Robert Lee Turner Jr., 20, and Nasir Lavant Garrett, 19, all of Detroit, were all arraigned this morning on 46 felony charges.

11-year-old Lamara Glenn was sleeping on the couch when she was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting. Lamara was on life support since Tuesday and sadly died this morning.

It is alleged that Defendant Tahkari Turner and Defendant Garrett produced and fired handguns into the residence, seriously wounding the 11-year-old victim before fleeing the scene. Robert allegedly helped after the shooting happened. Two other people have been arrested but no charges have been issued for them.

A 43-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, a 16-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl, another 11-year-old girl, an eight-year-old girl, and a seven-year-old girl were all inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Police confirmed the shooting was related to a car theft ring and the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old that happened a week before this shooting.

A GoFundMe has been stated to help pay for her funeral: https://gofund.me/6361d8f5
