3 Arrested After Shooting Into Home, Fleeing Police, Crashing Into Porch; 2 Draco Recovered

Three men are in custody after they were allegedly involved in a shooting on Detroit’s east side Saturday night.

The incident happened just after 7 p.m., when shots were fired into a home and a vehicle. Police say the suspects took off in a Chrysler, but a helicopter helped track the car as it fled the scene.

The chase ended in the area of Chandler Park and Outer Drive when the suspects crashed into another vehicle before slamming into a house. A woman in the struck car was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

All three suspects ran from the vehicle but were arrested by Detroit police officers. Investigators also recovered two Dracos.

Captain Carter said the arrests show the department’s commitment to tackling rising violence in the area.

“The Detroit Police Department wants the community to understand that we are concerned, and we know that there has been an uptick in violence in this area. We have beefed up the patrols, and we have been relentlessly patrolling the areas and bringing these people into custody,” Carter said.

Two of the suspects are ages 21 and 25, while the age of the third man has not been confirmed. All are male.

Police say no one inside the home or vehicle that was shot at was injured.
