A Detroit man has died after slipping off a dock and drowning in Lake St. Clair early Sunday morning.
Police identified the person as 27-year-old Demari Dior Morgan. Investigators say Morgan was visiting friends and family who had rented an Airbnb property for the weekend on the lake.
According to police, Morgan went onto the dock in the early morning hours around 2:30 a.m. and fell into the water. New Baltimore and Harrison Township fire crews located his body under the dock where he is believed to have fallen in.
Authorities say alcohol is suspected to have played a role, though no foul play is suspected. The final cause of death will be determined by the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office.
