Detroit’s biggest anime and cosplay convention is back.
Youmacon 2025 celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, taking over Huntington Place from October 30 through November 2.
The four-day festival will once again transform downtown Detroit into a world of anime, gaming, and pop culture. Fans of all ages can expect celebrity guests, live performances, cosplay contests, gaming tournaments, and a massive vendor marketplace.
One of this year’s biggest highlights is the appearance of stars from Netflix’s “K-Pop Demon Hunters.” Fans can meet May Hong (“Mira”), Danny Chung (“Baby Saja”), and Alan Lee (“Mystery Saja”) — the voices behind the action-packed animated film that’s become a global hit.
Guests can take photos, get autographs, and hear stories from the movie’s production.
The Japanese pop-metal trio BABYBEARD will bring their wild mix of vocals and metal energy to Detroit.
Youmacon invites everyone to join the fun — whether dressed as a favorite anime character, superhero, or even in a Halloween costume. Costumes aren’t required, but fans can enter cosplay contests by registering at Youmacon.com.
Gamers will have plenty to enjoy too, with over 90 scheduled tabletop and board games, including Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Call of Cthulhu. The event also features one of the Midwest’s largest free board game libraries.
The Marketplace Hall is the heart of Youmacon — packed with merch, collectibles, art, and opportunities to meet industry guests. It’s open all weekend and serves as the main hub for attendees.
