22-Acre Detroit Riverfront Park Opens This Weekend With Free Festival, Food, Entertainment & More

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy will celebrate the grand opening of the new 22-acre Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park this weekend, October 25–26, 2025.

The free two-day celebration will also serve as this year’s Detroit Harvest Fest, featuring live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities along the Riverfront.

The opening ceremony begins Saturday at 10 a.m., with festivities running Saturday until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Inside the Park

• William Davidson Sport House – two full basketball courts.

• Delta Dental Play Garden – five-acre playground with giant animal sculptures and the 23-foot-tall Bernstein Bear Slide.

• Huron-Clinton Metroparks Water Garden – 2.5 acres of wetlands with walkways.

• DTE Foundation Summit – open green lawn for concerts and events.

Weekend Highlights

• Main Performance: The Jacksons (Marlon & Jackie) – Saturday, 4 p.m.

• Additional acts: Ballet Folklorico Detroit, COMPÁS, Gabriel Duran, Larry Lee & Back in the Day Band, Alise King, Detroit House Collective, and more.

• Coffee House Pop-Up with art, dance & live music.

Food & Family Fun

• 30+ food trucks—Mexican, BBQ, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, seafood & more.

• Cafecito Alvarez coffee both days.

• Free Pick-and-Take Pumpkin Patch for kids 12 & under.

• Adventure Trail with trick-or-treating & giveaways.

• Mort Harris Outdoor Classroom, Art Alley, face painting, tattoos & a Park After Dark Glow Party (Sat & Sun, 6–8 p.m.)

• Sensory-Friendly Tent for quiet space.

• Pistons Academy Basketball Zone – Sat, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Glow Yoga – Sat, 6:30 p.m.

• Zumba – Sun, 11:30 a.m.

• Hustle Dance – Sun, 1 p.m.

• 3v3 Basketball – Sun, 3–5 p.m.

• Lawn games, ax throwing & Wellness Zone with meditation and sound bowls (Sat & Sun, 1–3 p.m.)

A new boardwalk and Riverwalk extension now connect Belle Isle, Eastern Market, Michigan Central, and Downtown Detroit.

Free parking at Bagley Mobility Hub (1501 Wabash) and Assembly Garage (1701 W. Lafayette) with shuttle service to and from the park.
