West Bloomfield Teen Charged After Fraud-Related Raid Uncovers Fake Cash, Stolen IDs, Credit Cards & More

A West Bloomfield teen is facing charges after police say they uncovered counterfeit money, firearms, and stolen personal information during a raid last week.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, around 6 a.m., West Bloomfield Police Detectives and the Oakland Special Response Team carried out an arrest and search warrant at a home in the 7800 block of Timberlane Trail, near Pontiac Trail & Haggerty Road.

The operation led to the arrest of Deago Harrell, 19, on one felony count of fraud-uttering and publishing counterfeit bills or notes.

Inside the home, investigators say they recovered a large haul, including:

• pistols and a shotgun

• Counterfeit U.S. currency and credit cards

• Prescription pills and checks in victims’ names

• Victims’ financial documents, mail, and driver’s licenses

• Multiple electronic devices such as laptops, a tablet, smartphones, a desktop computer, and a digital camera

• A credit card reader/encoder and notebooks with personal victim information

Harrell was arraigned in 48th District Court and given a $75,000 cash/surety bond.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Pacheco at (248) 975-8905.
