A 2-year-old child is hospitalized after being shot in Detroit.
The incident happened at a home Tuesday evening on Dickerson, near Jefferson and Connor.
A man entered his ex-girlfriend’s home to retrieve some belongings. That’s when an altercation broke out between the man and her new boyfriend, who was inside the house, police said.
Gunfire was exchanged, and a 2-year-old was shot in the leg after being caught in the crossfire.
The child is in stable condition, according to authorities. The child belongs to the suspect.
Police pursued the suspect’s vehicle but lost sight of it. The alleged suspect has been identified as Darius Lacey, according to Detroit police.
