Two men have been charged in connection to a shooting outside a downtown Detroit nightclub that left a 27-year-old man hospitalized.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, 21-year-old Alveon Roosevelt Kindle of Clinton Township and 23-year-old Paul Monyee Kindle of Southfield face multiple felony charges stemming from an armed robbery and shooting that occurred shortly after midnight on April 28, 2025.
Detroit police officers patrolling near Woodward Avenue and Adams Street heard shots fired around 12:30 a.m. and rushed toward the scene. They found the victim outside a nightclub on the 1500 block of Woodward. The man was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
Investigators say the two suspects worked together to rob the victim of his necklace. According to court arraignment, a physical struggle ensued before Alveon allegedly shot the victim multiple times.
Prosecutors also revealed that Alveon later admitted during a jail phone call that he fired the shots. Paul was reportedly found with the stolen necklace in his pocket when arrested.
The pair fled through Grand Circus Park after the shooting but were later arrested by Southfield Police and turned over to Detroit officers. Both were arraigned Tuesday in 36th District Court and ordered held without bond.
Alveon Kindle is charged with armed robbery, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Paul Kindle faces armed robbery, and other charges. (News & information release only)
