2 arrested after police chase, found hiding under bed in Ypsilanti

Police have arrested two people after a police chase that ended in Ypsilanti.

A traffic stop was attempted on the suspect vehicle on westbound I-94 near Belleville Rd in Van Buren Twp, Wayne County.

However, the vehicle fled when the trooper approached the vehicle. The vehicle was located in Ypsilanti Township and crashed into a garage, police said.

The suspects were observed by a Washtenaw County Deputy fleeing from the vehicle and forcibly entering a residence shortly thereafter, police said.

Detectives made entry into the home and with the help of a K9 located the driver of the vehicle hiding in a bedroom.

The passenger was also located hiding under a bed in the same room.

The search of the residence resulted in the seizer of 750 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of fentanyl, a Glock 9 mm handgun, and a Glock 19X 9mm pistol. The items were in a child’s bedroom hidden in a dresser drawer. A second search warrant was obtained for the original suspect’s residence in Sumpter Township resulting in the seizure of 1.2 grams of fentanyl, 215 grams of cocaine and a Draco 7.62mm pistol.
