2 Arrested, 3 Missing Teen Girls Found Safe After Detroit Police Respond to Home Break-In

Three teenage girls who were reported missing have been found safe on Detroit’s east side.

The girls – sisters Saniyah and Mariah, and their cousin Aaliyah – were last seen leaving their cousin’s residence on the 5000 block of E. Outer Drive early Monday morning around 2:00 a.m.

Family members said they left with an unknown male and never returned, sparking a widespread search.

On the same day of them being reported as missing, Detroit police were called to Runyon Street, where individuals were seen breaking into a home.

When police knocked on the door, the group took off running.

Investigators returned to the home Tuesday with additional information about three missing teen girls being inside. When officers approached again, the girls tried to run but were quickly detained along with several boys – two 18-year-olds and a 14-year-old – who were also inside the home. The teen boys have been arrested and taken to the detention center.

The three teens were taken to the 11th Precinct to be processed. We are told the girls had previously been in trouble at home and were scared to return.
