
A 19-year-old woman allegedly opened fire on a group of men outside a Foot Locker in Eastpointe, fatally shooting two and injuring another during an altercation involving her brother.
The shooting happened on May 3 around 2:50 p.m. in the parking lot of a Foot Locker on Eight Mile Road.
Police say 21-year-old Dejuan Jermain Taylor and his sister were in the business’s parking lot.
Another group of individuals appeared, and an argument ensued between Dejuan Taylor and this group of 3 people. Taylor soon got into a physical altercation with this group, one of whom had a gun, Prosecutors said.
“Taylor was soon overpowered, and on the ground while the group continued to pummel him. Taylor’s sister ran back to get her gun and then allegedly fired upon the group, killing two and injuring one from the group, along with injuring Taylor (her brother),” Macomb County Prosecutor said in a news release.
Dejuan Taylor then allegedly picked up a firearm and magazines from the ground and fled the scene with his sister.
He has since been charged with:
• Tampering with Evidence (10-year felony)
• Firearms Larceny (5-year felony)
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon (5-year felony)
Taylor was arraigned in 38th Eastpointe District Court, where bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety.
On May 5, Taylor’s sister turned herself in after her attorney contacted police. She has not yet been charged. The case is being reviewed by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. Her name has not been released.
