19-year-old saves girlfriend from house fire in Detroit, jumps out window while carrying her

A 19-year-old Detroit man suffered second-degree burns while saving his girlfriend from a burning home. Now, he is being hailed a hero by his and his girlfriend’s family.

The fire broke out on January 11 at a home on Artesian Street in Detroit. Byron Wilson Jr. sustained burns on over 21% of his body.

According to his family, Bryon rushed to his girlfriend’s bedroom when the home started filling with smoke.

The flames began to spread so fast that Bryon had to break the window and jump out with his girlfriend from the second floor to escape.

He landed on the ground first to protect his girlfriend from the fall. After they got out, Bryon went back to attempt save her family. Fortunately, they all made it out and suffered minor injuries.
