19-year-old dies after being shot while on I-94 freeway

A teen who was fatally shot on the freeway has been identified as 19-year-old Alvin “Lil Mark” Johnson, a student-athlete who graduated from Harper Woods.

The shooting occurred Saturday on eastbound I-94 near 10 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores.

St. Clair Shores EMS rushed two people from the Chevy to a nearby hospital after they were shot. Tragically, Johnson later died from his injuries.

Authorities say detectives are still working to determine the motive behind the shooting.

Johnson was known for his dedication both on and off the field. He was a member of the Talent Search Program, Max Ex ELITE, and an alumnus of Sound Mind Sound Body, where he balanced athletics, academics, and mentorship. He graduated high school and earned a football scholarship to Central State University in Ohio, according to family.
