A 19-year-old from metro Detroit is facing federal charges after posting photos with a “switch.”
According to court documents, Titus Modock, 19, is allegedly a member of the “JTK” gang, a group the feds linked to ongoing violence in Detroit.
Detroit police arrested Modock after finding him in a stolen car with two other JTK members. Inside, officers recovered a Glock 30 and an AR-15, according to the affidavit.
Investigators say the rifle was later tested and linked through ballistics to a July, 2024, homicide in Detroit and an October, 2024, shooting. DNA testing also confirmed Modock’s DNA was on the rifle’s trigger.
During a search warrant in Taylor, federal agents recovered a Glock 21 fitted with an illegal machine g.n conversion device, commonly called a “switch.”
Testing showed the Glock had been used in a November, 2024, felonious assault in Detroit and a September, 2024, armed robbery in Romulus, according to the criminal complaint.
Much of the information also came from Modock’s Instagram account:
• He posted videos of himself holding Glocks with ‘switches’ and extended mags.
• Other JTK members were seen in the same posts using the same Glock.
• In one private message, Modock said: “omg I got a 27 wit a button.”
Modock was officially charged in federal court this month, according to the criminal complaint.
