13-year-old taken into custody in connection to break-ins in Oakland County & Detroit

A 13-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with multiple break-ins, including an incident where he allegedly attacked a young girl while carrying a knife, according to police.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, the suspect has been linked to 11 burglaries—nine in Pontiac and two in Detroit.

Bouchard stated that the suspect was armed with a knife in at least three of the cases.

The break-ins, which began on December 23, occurred between 3 and 7 a.m. The suspect reportedly entered homes through unlocked windows in the same Pontiac neighborhood over a span of six weeks, according to police.

The suspect is expected to be charged today.
