A 12-year-old boy has been taken into custody after deputies say he stole multiple vehicles from a Pontiac business.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office arrested the boy on Friday. He is now being held at the Oakland County Children’s Village.
“This young man is on a very bad path, attempting to live his own grand theft auto,” said Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “Hopefully intervention by the courts will send him on a better life path as well as stopping the constant theft from this business.”
Investigators say the boy had entered several vehicles parked at the business. When he was stopped, deputies found a license plate in his possession.
Detectives believe the child stole three to four vehicles over the past month—selling at least one for just $30.
The case remains under investigation.
