A chaotic series of events in Detroit following the fireworks show has left several officers injured.
It began to unfold Monday night in the area of Chrysler and Larned.
Following the fireworks show, a vehicle leaving downtown struck a Detroit police officer and then led police on a chase.
Michigan State Police pursued the vehicle until the driver crashed on I-75 near Holbrook. He was taken into custody.
While officers were responding, two Detroit police cruisers crashed into each other, leaving 4 injured.
A total of five officers were injured with non-life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE: 6 total officers were injured.
