1 Dead After Being Ejected in Crash on Lodge Freeway

A 25-year-old man is dead after a crash early Saturday morning on the Lodge Freeway near Chicago Boulevard.

Michigan State Police say the driver was heading northbound when he veered off the roadway near the Chicago exit, went up an embankment, hit a tree, and rolled back onto the freeway. During the crash, the driver was ejected from the SUV.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

The freeway was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
